Last week E&A’s Jim Spillane was a guest speaker on the Chainlinks National Restaurant Council call to share insights on his history in the real estate industry and Starbucks tenure. Jim highlighted “Starbucks’ brand uniqueness and the story of how the company has continually innovated and transcended from a business that was initially focused on small 1,200 – 1,500 square foot café stores in predominately white upper middle class neighborhoods and urban cores to a business that is substantially focused on convenience through the early adaption of the Starbucks Mobile Order & Pay App and the dominance of the drive thru format is truly incredible. Even prior to COVID, Starbucks was ahead of its competitors with the early testing of pick-up only stores and curbside delivery. Starbucks is well positioned to meet the needs of the consumer as we transition to the new normal after COVID.”
As a Strategic Consultant with E & A, Jim focuses on educating, coaching and building capabilities internally with the team as well as being a resource for any of our existing or new clients that might benefit from his experience in leading a store development organization at high growth company like Starbucks.
