About Jim
Jim joined Epsteen and Associates in 2020 in the role of Strategic Consultant with a focus on New Business Development, Client Services and Developing Organization Capabilities.
Prior to joining E&A, Jim held various senior positions at Starbucks Coffee. Under Jim’s leadership as SVP of US Store Development, his team delivered record results in new store performance, net new store count and new store revenue and profitability. In support of the US Business, Jim led the successful implementation of the annual operating plan of the over 1,000 renovations per year and the Repair & Maintenance of the 8,500 Company Owned US Stores. In his role as the leader of this World Class Store Development Organization, Jim led over 400 partners in real estate, construction and facilities to ensure successful execution of their plan.
With 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, Jim is known for developing highly skilled and functional teams while maximizing organizational capabilities and brings an expertise in real estate development, strategic planning, market planning, repositioning strategies, site selection, development timelines, ground up development, lease standards and negotiations, store level economics, retail construction, facilities practices and design and construction coordination.
As a member of the 1975 NCAA Championship Basketball Team at UCLA under the legendary Coach John Wooden, Jim has incorporated the teachings of Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success in his leadership philosophy and team development.
Jim and his wife Lori live in Trabuco Canyon and have 3 children and 2 grandkids.
